Product description:

  • Single or multiple labyrinth seals are more effective than simple gap seals, but are more expensive
  • They are mainly used in grease lubrication
  • Their effectiveness can be increased by regularly applying a water-insoluble grease, e.g. a lithium calcium soap grease, through a channel into the labyrinth
  • The edges of the labyrinth are directed axially for undivided houses and radially for divided houses
  • The width of the axial gap in the labyrinth remains unchanged when the shaft moves axially during operation and can therefore be very small
  • When misalignment of the shaft occurs with respect to the house, labyrinths with a sloping profile are used
