Routers for accurate woodworking and edge finishing

A router is the versatile tool for anyone who wants to shape wood and sheet material accurately. With a fast-spinning cutter you make profiles, rebates, grooves and crisp edge finishes, both freehand and mounted in a router table. For fine work and edge trimming you choose a light, manoeuvrable machine; for deep cuts in solid timber and hardwood you need power and a stable plunge movement.

When choosing, look at the input power, the collet capacity and the speed control. Compact models around 710 W to 1010 W are ideal for assembly work and small profiles, while machines from 1400 W to 2300 W drive large cutters with ease. A collet of 8 mm or 12 mm decides which cutter shanks fit, so match it to your cutter collection.
