Corded hedge trimmers for hedge, border and shrub upkeep
A hedge trimmer cuts a hedge back to a line in one pass, and a corded electric machine is the right pick wherever a socket is within reach: constant output from the first cut to the last, no run time to manage, and less weight in the hands than a comparable petrol unit. Blade length sets the pace.
A shorter bar around 55 cm is easier to control on ornamental shapes and when working off a ladder, while a longer bar of 65 to 75 cm spans a wide face in fewer passes and keeps the top of a formal hedge level. Motor output in the 400W to 670W band decides how thick a stem the blades will pull through without stalling.
Look at tooth spacing against the growth you actually cut, at the balance of the machine with the bar held horizontal, and at whether the rear handle rotates for vertical cuts down the sides. A brake that stops the blades quickly is worth paying for. Part of the garden and forest range, next to grass trimmers.
