Battery heated jackets for cold outdoor and cold store work
A heated jacket runs carbon fibre elements off the same battery platform as the rest of the kit, so cold weather stops being the thing that ends the working day. The heat zones sit across the chest and the mid-back where warmth spreads fastest, and some jackets add a heated collar or a warming pocket for hands between tasks.
Three heat settings are standard, the lowest holding a comfortable working temperature and the highest reserved for warming up quickly after a break. Runtime depends entirely on the pack: a compact 12V battery suits a short shift, while an 18V pack on the low setting keeps going through a full one.
Fit matters more than it sounds, because the elements only work against a body they stay close to, so size for a base layer rather than a bulky mid-layer. Check the shell as well, since a water-repellent softshell handles wind and drizzle and a washable jacket with a removable battery holder survives site life. For milder conditions the unheated jacket range and matching trousers are the sensible pairing.
