Handheld oscilloscopes for electrical fault finding
An oscilloscope shows voltage as it changes over time, which is what separates a diagnosis from a guess when a machine trips intermittently or a signal degrades under load. Bandwidth is the first specification to settle: 20 MHz is enough for power electronics, motor control and general maintenance work, while 40 MHz and 200 MHz instruments resolve fast switching edges and communication signals.
Channel count decides how much of the picture you see at once, and four channels let you compare phases or line up a command signal against the response it produces. Handheld instruments are built for the plant floor rather than the bench, with battery operation, sealed cases and inputs rated to sit safely on live circuits. Look at sample rate and memory depth alongside bandwidth, because a fast front end with shallow memory cannot hold a long capture at full resolution.
