Circular saw blades for wood, laminate, aluminium and plastics, plus diamond blades

Circular saw blades and diamond blades are the cutting inserts for circular saws, plunge saws and angle grinders, used by joiners, fitters and contractors. They belong to cutting tools, as do drill bits and cutters.

A blade first has to fit your machine: diameter, bore and kerf are in the description, for example 160 × 2.2 × 20 mm for a compact saw or 260 × 2.5 × 30 mm for a larger machine. Then choose by material and finish. An alternate top bevel tooth (W) cuts wood, a triple chip flat tooth (TF) is meant for laminate, HPL, aluminium and plastics. More teeth give a finer cut, fewer teeth cut faster: a W28 blade is universal, a W48 blade leaves a fine finish.

Diamond blades with a 22.2 mm bore cut concrete, stone and chases in walls. Brands include Bosch, Bahco, Makita, Milwaukee, Metabo, Fein, Festool, Spit and more. If you need holes rather than cuts, move on to drill bits, countersinks and step drills.
