Rod ends for articulating rod connections

A rod end connects a rod or cylinder to a pivoting point and absorbs angular misalignment and vibration in the process. The spherical bearing in the head lets the connection move with the load, so the rod does not bind when the force changes direction. Machine builders and agricultural and transport technicians use them in track rods, hydraulic cylinders and lifting mechanisms.

You choose between a male-thread or female-thread version, and check the thread direction, because alongside right-hand there are also left-hand versions for turnbuckle assemblies. The thread size, the bore diameter of the bearing and the permissible load in the working direction are also decisive. Maintenance-free bearings with a sliding liner need no greasing, while steel-on-steel versions want periodic lubrication.

The range covers a broad size span for light control linkages up to heavily loaded cylinders. Measure the existing thread and bore accurately or note the old type number, so the new rod end fits straight away and the connection stays free of play under load.
