Pilot drills for accurate pre-drilling

A pilot drill makes sure your hole starts exactly where it should. By first making a small, precise indentation you stop the drill from wandering across the surface, which matters above all in metalworking, turning and accurate assembly work. The short, sturdy construction gives the drill little play, so the centre stays clean and repeatable.

Pilot drills come in HSS and cobalt alloys for harder material, with diameters that typically run from around 3.0 mm to 12.0 mm and larger.
