Load hooks for chain, round sling and lifting strap

A load hook forms the connection between the lifting gear and the load, which makes it the part the entire load passes through. The working load limit is marked on the hook itself and applies only to a straight pull in the seat of the bowl. Loading it sideways or pulling over the tip lowers the capacity sharply and is one of the most commonly made mistakes in practice.

The version follows from the lifting gear. Eye hooks are hung on a sling or a chain, shortening claws take up a length of chain so you adjust the length in the field without altering the chain itself, and hooks with a safety latch close the bowl so the load cannot jump out when it is unloaded. For chain work the grade decides the combination: Grade 8 and Grade 10 components must not be mixed, and the hook has to reach at least the grade of the chain.

Check before every use for deformation, cracks and wear on the bowl and the latch. REMA supplies this range. For attaching sheet material a plate clamp belongs with it, and for irregular loads a round sling.
