Adjustable, preset and static torque screwdrivers
A torque screwdriver applies a set fastening value and stops the driver going past it, which matters wherever a specification sheet gives a figure in Nm rather than leaving it to feel. Electronics, control panels, instrument housings and composite assemblies all fail the same way under an overtightened screw: stripped threads, cracked housings, crushed gaskets. Adjustable models let the value be dialled in across a working band, typically from well under 1 Nm on fine electronics work up to around 34 Nm for heavier assembly, and they signal release with an audible and tactile break.
Preset models are locked to a single figure, which suits repetitive production where drift in the setting is the real risk. Versions with a graduated scale suit test benches and calibration checks. Look for an insulated grip where live work is possible, a quick-change holder if bit swaps are frequent, and a documented calibration interval, since an out-of-tolerance driver is worse than none at all.
