Straight and curve shears for thin sheet metal

Within cutting and bending the sheet metal shear is the machine that cuts steel plate without putting heat into it. No discolouration, no heat tint along the cut and no distortion, where an angle grinder burns the coating and warps the sheet. That makes it the standard for roofing, ducting, bodywork and facade cladding.

Maximum cutting thickness decides the choice. Versions up to 1 mm and 1.6 mm are light and follow a tight line, while 3.2 mm asks for a heavier machine with more torque. Power follows: 350 W to 400 W is enough for thin sheet, 710 W to 750 W is meant for thick work and for long cuts one after another.

Then look at the shape of the cut you need. A straight shear pulls a long run across the sheet, a curve shear turns inside a small radius and is the choice for cut-outs and round shapes. The strip that comes free curls away to the side, so allow room next to the cutting line. Supply in a system case keeps the machine protected in transport and between two jobs.
