Trolleys for internal transport and storage

A platform trolley moves goods, tools and parts over short distances inside a hall, workshop or store, instead of walking back and forth. The difference from a plain cart is in the build. Versions with several shelves keep boxes and bins apart at height; versions with drawers lock tools away and hold small parts in place while moving. Combinations of shelves and drawers exist for anyone who needs both at the same workstation.

Look at load capacity first. Models for heavy loads have a steel frame and a reinforced chassis, which counts as soon as machine parts, tool cases or complete sets go on. Aluminium keeps the weight down where the trolley is pushed by hand all day.

Watch the handling as well, because a trolley that has to turn tightly in narrow aisles needs a different wheel layout than one running straight over long distances. Measure the clearance at doors and lifts before you fix on a size.

For pallets and heavier loads use a pallet truck; the rest of the means of transport fills this out.
