Hydraulic valves for cylinders and pumps

A hydraulic valve decides where the oil goes and what happens when you let go of the control. In a system with cylinders and a pump it is the part that steers the load, holds it and lets it down under control. A manually operated control valve distributes oil across the connected lines. The 3-way version works with single acting cylinders that return under spring force or their own weight; the 4-way version drives a double acting cylinder in both directions.

Both exist with three positions, where the centre position holds the load in place without the pump having to keep running. Choose further on mounting: a valve mounted on the pump keeps the control at the source, while a valve mounted in the system sits close to the cylinder where you have sight of the load. For work above people or plant, a safety valve that blocks automatically and lowers precisely is not a luxury.
