OK 53.05 is a double-coated basic low-hydrogen electrode for welding unalloyed and fine-grained steels. The electrode combines the good welding properties of a rutile electrode with the excellent mechanical properties of a basic electrode. The double coating creates a deep crater, which ensures a stable welding arc and provides extra protection for the molten pool, making the electrode particularly suitable for root passes, pipe welding and position welding.
OK 53.05 is used for structural steel, boiler plate, shipbuilding and pipework where a reliable welded joint with good toughness and a low hydrogen content is required. The electrode is available in VacPac packaging for optimum protection against moisture.
