Strong and clean joints with Esab

Practical benefits
  • Exceptionally stable arc: Thanks to the double coating, you get a deep crater that stabilizes the arc and shields the molten pool.
  • High mechanical strength: You produce crack-resistant, radiographic-quality welds with low hydrogen content in unalloyed steel structures.
  • Optimized for positional welding: You handle root passes and pipe joints effortlessly due to excellent puddle control and consistent penetration.

In a nutshell

The right choise for

With the Esab ok 53.05 basic welding electrode, you achieve strong, crack-resistant joints in unalloyed steel and structural steel. Its double coating creates a deep crater that stabilizes the welding arc and gives you optimal puddle control. This makes the 2,5 x 350 mm electrode well suited for root passes, pipe joints, and demanding welding positions using direct current (DC+ or DC-). Delivered in hermetic VacPac packaging, the electrodes remain protected against moisture pick-up so you can weld immediately without prior re-drying.
