Cordless transfer pumps for moving liquids on battery power

A cordless transfer pump moves water and other thin liquids quickly from one place to another, without needing a socket or a separate power source. That is handy for draining a flooded cellar, a building pit, a fountain or a barrel, and for maintenance where no mains power is available. Because the pump runs on a battery, you are ready to work straight away and move freely around the site.

Milwaukee, Ryobi and Bosch supply stick and submersible versions at 12V for light work and at 18V for a higher flow rate. When choosing, look at the delivery volume in litres per minute and the maximum delivery head, because these determine how fast and how high you can pump. Also check the diameter of the connections and the length of the hose, so the cordless transfer pump suits your application.

If you already work with a fixed battery system, you share the same batteries with your other tools and do not have to bring a separate power supply to the job.
