Pressure sprayers and backpack sprayers

A pressure sprayer applies liquids evenly under pressure, whether it is water, cleaning agent, weedkiller or crop protection. You first build up pressure with the pump, after which a fine spray mist comes from the lance for as long as the pressure holds. For smaller jobs a handy pressure sprayer that you carry by a handle is enough; for larger surfaces a backpack sprayer spreads the weight over your shoulders, so you keep working comfortably for longer.

Brands such as Gardena and Carat offer versions with adjustable spray heads, from a wide mist to a focused jet. When choosing, look at the tank capacity in relation to the area you treat, because frequent refilling costs time. A pressure valve and a comfortable pump grip make the work lighter, while chemically resistant seals matter when you use aggressive agents.

Always flush the system through after use to prevent the nozzle clogging. This way you spread every agent sparingly and evenly, both indoors and out.
