Bosch electric nibblers and plate shears cut sheet metal without sparks or heat, which makes them the tool of roofers, metalworkers and installers. They are part of the broader range of Bosch electrical power tools and take over from grinders where a disc leaves too much burr or heats the metal.

The difference lies in how they cut. Plate shears work with an upper and a lower blade, make a straight or gently curved cut in flat sheet and leave a clean edge. A nibbler punches out small pieces of material and can therefore follow tight curves, in profiled sheet too. That makes the nibbler the choice for roofing and cladding profiles, the shears for flat sheet and long straight cuts.

Power runs from 500 to 750 W; a stronger machine cuts thicker material without stalling. Check the steel thickness the machine can take as well and compare it with what you handle every day. Blades, punches and dies are wear parts you replace separately. For deburring the cut edges, the Bosch corded angle grinders and sanders remain the logical companion.
