Belt grinders for shaping and finishing metal

A belt grinder works metal with a continuous abrasive belt, which makes it ideal for deburring, surface grinding, derusting and polishing welds. Because the belt runs continuously in one direction, the machine removes material faster than a sanding disc and keeps an even grinding pattern. Stationary versions from Fein and Ryobi stand fixed on the bench, so you steer the workpiece against the belt with both hands; mobile units you bring to large or heavy workpieces instead.

The heaviest models deliver high power, up to roughly 6000 W, for aggressive stock removal in production environments. When choosing, look at the belt length and belt width, because those decide which abrasive belts fit and how large the contact area is. A stepless speed control helps to prevent discolouration and burn-through on thin sheet. Match the grade of the belt to the task: coarse for heavy deburring, fine for the finish.

Good dust extraction and spark collection keep the workplace clean and safe. This way you deliver crisp, flat metal surfaces, job after job.
