Alligator saw for aerated concrete and blocks
An alligator saw cuts with two counter-moving blades through aerated concrete, lightweight blocks, fast-build bricks and insulation material, quickly and with a straight cut. For shell construction and renovation that is a big advantage: you cut blocks to size without the dust cloud and the kickback of a cut-off saw, and you keep the saw firmly under control with both hands.
Thanks to the long blade, depending on the model around 29.5 to 45 cm, you cut through thick material in a single pass. The power generally lies between 1600 and 1700 W, enough to saw through harder blocks smoothly too. It matters that you match the blade to the material, because aerated concrete, lightweight blocks and insulation call for different tooth patterns.
Watch the weight, the balance and the vibration damping as well, because these decide how comfortably you keep working for longer. Brands such as DeWalt and Bosch supply alligator saws that are used intensively on site every day. Choose the combination of blade length and saw blade that suits your material.
