Adhesive trowel
A glue comb spreads adhesive in an even layer with fixed ridges, so every square metre gets the same amount. Floor layers, parquet fitters and joiners use it to bond parquet, floor coverings, panels and metal.
The notching decides how much adhesive you apply. A comb with B11 notching is meant for parquet glue, a fine B3 notching leaves a thinner layer, and there are separate combs for contact adhesive on metal. Square and triangular teeth leave a different amount of adhesive, so always follow the notching the adhesive manufacturer specifies. The wrong notching gives too little bond or glue that squeezes out of the joints. Then choose the size: from a mini glue comb for small repairs to a 130 x 300 mm comb for large surfaces. Replace a comb once the teeth are worn, because worn notching applies less adhesive than specified, and clean it before the glue cures.
The glue combs come from Bahco, Rectavit, Soudal and Bison. The other tools for applying and smoothing adhesive and sealant are grouped under gluing and sealing tools.
