Oil absorbent cloths and absorbent sheets

An absorbent cloth picks up spilled liquid where a drip tray or loose granulate is not practical: under a machine, on a walkway, beside a filling point or in the load bed of a service van. The cloth holds the liquid in the fibre, so the floor stays dry and walkable and no slip hazard builds up. The first choice is the type. Oil absorbent cloths take up oil and fuel but repel water, which makes them usable outdoors and on wet floors.

Universal cloths pick up almost anything, coolant and water included. For aggressive substances there are chemically resistant versions. Weight comes next. A light weight works quickly and is meant as a throwaway cloth for small spills. A heavy weight holds considerably more and stays in one piece when you lift and move it saturated, with medium in between.

Perforated cloths tear to size so you use no more than you need, and bonded versions do not shed fibres and keep their shape in use. Related material sits under absorbent material.
