3M Cubitron ll Sanding Belt 947A with Precision Shaped Grain technology on an X-weight polycotton backing. Our 974A belts are resin bonded to the back for better heat resistance and are preferably used dry.
Use the 3M Cubitron ll Sanding Belt 947A for excellent results in applications ranging from high-pressure automatic grinding to low-to-medium-pressure manual operations with devices such as backstand sanders, filebelt sanders, satiners and sanding benches. Our 947A sanding belts offer Precision Shaped Grain technology on a backing of heavy polycotton (X-weight). The sanding grains are preformed into triangular sanding points (Precision Shaped Grain) that cut through metal like a knife, instead of grooving or ploughing like traditional abrasives. These points continuously sharpen themselves as small pieces break off, so they cut through material super-fast and less heat is developed - therefore less heat-related stress cracking and discolouration occurs. The abrasive material delivers a uniform finish throughout its life and helps prevent burn marks. The fabric X-weight backing offers durability and the mineral is resin bonded to it for reliable performance even at high temperatures and pressures.
