3M Cubitron II Fibre Disc 987C with 3M Precision Shaped Grain grinds extremely fast on heat-sensitive steels such as stainless steel and aluminium and offers up to 2x higher grinding speed and life compared to other fibre discs. The lower working pressure results in more working comfort for the user while being able to finish more parts per disc. Suitable for heavier machining work.

Our discs are ideal for weld removal, chamfering, grinding and blending. With the Grinding Aid on the disc, this is an excellent product for any type of metal: it keeps the disc cooler on stainless steels and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium. It also reduces discolouration and oxidation of the metal, as well as the risk of heat-related stress cracking. This means our discs last longer and perform better than competing products. They contain abrasive grains that are pre-formed into triangular calibrated abrasive tips (3M Precision Shaped Grain) that cut through metal like a knife, instead of grooving or ploughing like traditional abrasives. These tips constantly sharpen themselves as small pieces break off, cutting through material extremely quickly. Our discs have a tough, rigid backing of vulcanised fibre that is wear-resistant and stands up to tough grinding applications. They are ideal for removing mill scale, pits and imperfections.
