Magnetic core drills for metalworking

A core drill bores large, accurate holes in steel and other metal without you having to pre-drill. Thanks to the magnetic base, you fix the machine firmly onto vertical plates, beams and structures, even when working overhead. For steel construction, assembly and maintenance, that is the difference between rough work and a clean bore.

When choosing, look at the maximum drilling diameter and the drilling depth: lighter machines work up to roughly 35 mm, while heavier versions handle diameters up to 65 mm. The motor power decides how smoothly you get through thick material and ranges from around 1000 W to well over 1700 W. A cutting-oil system and stepless speed control raise the life of your core drill cutters and the quality of the hole.

Brands such as Fein, Milwaukee, Metabo and Makita supply machines for both occasional use and intensive daily work on site. Choose a lighter model for mobile assembly work and a more powerful unit with a large clamping range for the workshop.
