Unprecedented grip, OGV technology

While other tools simply spin, OGV grabs the screw or bolt by the throat. Whether you're battling rust, wear and tear, or a previous owner who applied too much force, tight is tight, until today. FACOM OGV technology provides unprecedented grip, allowing you to effortlessly loosen what previously seemed stuck fast.

FAQ

The Facom OGV® profile is a patented design for sockets and ring or open-ended wrenches. Instead of applying pressure to the vulnerable points (corners) of a bolt, the OGV® profile engages the flat sides of the nut or bolt. This increases the contact surface area and ensures more efficient power transmission.

Using the OGV® profile offers three key benefits for the professional: Reduced wear: Because the corners of the bolt are relieved of stress, they are not "rounded off." Higher torque: The larger contact surface allows you to apply more force without the wrench slipping. Longer lifespan: Both the tools and the fasteners last longer, even under heavy industrial use.

Yes, OGV® technology is highly suitable for bolts that are already slightly damaged. Because the socket shifts the pressure to the flanks (the healthy parts of the bolt), you often regain grip where a conventional 6-point or 12-point socket would slip.

OGV® 6-point: Offers maximum contact surface and is the safest choice for transferring very high torque without damaging the bolt. OGV® 12-point: Allows for a smaller recovery angle (30°), which is ideal for work in tight spaces with limited swing room. Thanks to OGV® technology, even the 12-point variant is safer for your bolts than a standard 6-point socket from a budget brand.

Yes and no. Not all OGV tools come with the standard FACOM lifetime guarantee. You can see immediately whether your tool is covered on the product page: check the section “key features according to our expert”.
