Headlamps are lamps attached to the head and can work in different ways. Some are mounted on straps worn as headbands, while others are mounted on clips that can be attached to safety helmets or other headgear.
What are headlamps used for?
A headlamp is a light source attached to the head for outdoor activities at night or in dark conditions. While headlamps were used as safety lamps in coal mines in the early 1800s, today headlamps have many different purposes. Which headlamp is suitable for you and your job?
Which energy source headlamp?
Most headlamps can be classified into two types of energy sources. First, you have headlamps that use conventional batteries, generally AAA type batteries. This type of headlamp has a lifespan of tens of hours, enough for several shifts. These headlamps have the disadvantage of being slightly heavier to wear compared to other headlamps. Do you want a lighter alternative? Choose a headlamp with rechargeable batteries. The batteries are usually charged via a USB cable.
What kind of light headlamp?

Depending on the function of the headlamp, they differ in the type of light used. The better, more powerful headlamps, such as the Facom LED headlamp with 200 lumens, have different light modes, depending on the use. In any case, it is advisable to choose a light intensity of at least 40 lumens and a wide light beam so that you can look around you properly. The higher the number of lumens, the more light is emitted. On average, a well-performing headlamp is around 200 or 300 lumens.
Headlamps with red light
Red light not only provides light for the right atmosphere, but it also has the advantage of being less noticeable. The main advantage of using a headlamp with a red light function is that you do not disturb the night vision. If you use white light instead of red light, your eyes have to adjust to the white light initially when you turn it on. And when you’re done using it, your eyes have to get used to the dark all over again.
Headlamp with motion sensor
You can also opt for a headlamp with a motion sensor. In addition to the normal on and off button, this type of headlamp also has a handy motion sensor. A headlamp with a motion sensor is recommended when using the headlamp for work where hands get dirty. The headlamp can also be switched on and off by waving the hand in front of the headlamp sensor.
