The Fluke 2052 Advanced Cable Locator accurately and safely locates live and de-energized cable problems in residential, commercial and industrial environments up to CAT IV 600 V. This CAT specification provides the highest protection available on any locator. It is designed to protect you against the most dangerous levels of commutation breakdowns, surges up to 8,000 V, that can occur in industrial environments. This is especially important for scenarios you may encounter in environments such as industrial facilities, factories and hospitals where critical equipment cannot be taken out of service.
Whether locating faults in electrical wiring and equipment in homes, commercial buildings or high-voltage installations, the Fluke 2052 can easily detect breaks, opens and short circuits. The different modes and functions give you the flexibility to troubleshoot a wide range of electrical wiring and circuit problems that you may encounter on the job.
The 2052-R receiver detects the signal in wires and cables in two ways: passive tracing without transmitter for non-contact voltage detection, and active tracing with transmitter for all other modes. The receiver's point sensor can track wires in corners, tight spaces and junction boxes.
The 2000-T transmitter operates on live and de-energized circuits up to CAT IV 600 V and has high, low and loop modes. These modes change the strength of the signal generated and, depending on the circuit you are tracing, can provide more accurate results.
The 2000-T automatically detects whether the system is live or de-energized and selects an output frequency of 6 kHz or 33 kHz.
More sensitivity levels mean more flexibility and accuracy in tracking.
The Fluke 2052 Advanced Cable Locator Kit comes with everything needed to start tracing wires and circuits. The accessory kit includes test leads, test probes, round and flat pin wall socket adapters, and alligator clips to connect the transmitter to electrical systems. Connecting the transmitter to a bare conductor with the supplied alligator clips and test leads always provides the most accurate results. However, in situations where a direct connection to a bare conductor is not available, the supplied i400 current clamp can be used with the 'Loop' mode to generate an amplified 6 kHz signal through the insulation. The set also includes batteries and a hard carrying case.
